After years of anticipation and countdown, planning and imagining, the time is almost here! I no longer need my Countdown App that has helped boost me through the tough days, there is 1 more sleep before my deferred leave. I am eagerly looking forward to the gift of a chance to explore the world in a whole new way for an entire, glorious year!
We have vacillated between planning and reserving, and going with the flow. In the end, I believe, or at least hope, that the year will be a blend of anticipating adventures and serendipitous moments! Some friends anticipated that "letting go" of Sacred Heart would be tough! I didn't believe so and now that the time is near, I am absolutely fine with handing over the reins. It certainly helps that I am transitioning to a friend! I am proud of my time at Sacred Heart - at least as proud as I can be of job with impossible expectations! While I have been very busy, and somewhat focused on the transition, I am also no longer able to control the bubbling excitement that the year ahead promises!
As always, this blog is primarily for me, but I have had loads of requests for the link. I am happy to share it with anyone who is interested! I love to live vicariously through other people's blogging and am glad to offer that to others! My previous travel blogs have been daily accounts. At times during this year - like when I am on safari in South Africa, or when I am hiking through the desert, or riding a camel past the pyramids - there may well be daily reports!
